The Mix Waterfall officially launched on 3 July; 71 units were sold over a two-day period. Sales were facilitated via the tailor-made online shop while some buyers purchased in person at the sales office. In total, The Mix achieved sales to the value of R100 million. This being a combination of the desirable interest rate and the revolutionary online platform The Mix was configured around the requirement of buyers during Covid and accentuated by amended level 4.

“This weekend we were overwhelmed with the response and managed to reach buyers locally and as far as Botswana, Dubai and Zimbabwe. The buyer profile observed comprises a mix of investors and first-time buyers. The most popular units were 1-bedroom options, while the two highly desirable penthouses sold on the spot. Due to the demand across all unit types, the developers have introduced more of the 2-bed duplexes and penthouses to The Mix. Buyers were most excited about the tech-living aspect of this product as well as the convenience of living adjacent to the iconic Mall of Africa. The success of the launch is testament to the fact that there is a massive demand for this kind of product, as we had established as part of the extensive market research gathered by Rainmaker Marketing. High rise living is perceived as quite “futuristic” for us locally. We have seen the move from massive freestanding homes to smaller freestanding homes in gated estates, to now, people wanting a ‘lock-up-and-go’ solution in an apartment styled environment that gives access to a myriad of facilities right on their doorstep,” said Adrienne Hersch, Principal of Adrienne Hersch Properties.

Hersch continues, “The Mix is home to many next level facilities, including a first-of-its-kind fully integrated app, ‘The Mix Passport’ which will allow you to own the day, own the moment and control your every action, at the touch of a button. The purpose of The Mix Passport app is to make day-to-day tasks effortless and convenient. There really will be no easier way to book time at the gym, arrange for a cleaning service and have your laundry sorted; everything you need will be at your fingertips – including physical access to the building. The development team has stepped out of the lines when configuring and conceptualising The Mix. It is everything we could have dreamed of having in one place.”

The Mix sales office is situated in the Mall of Africa and has been equipped to adhere to new lockdown regulations: all guests were screened on arrival; they were shown an actual unit mock-up to scale as well as given access to the online module which allowed them to select and purchase their unit with ease. Interactive sales tools enabled a swift sales process that was quick and efficient.
